Brandon Bonanno
A 1993 graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore
County (UMBC) with a BS in Chemical Engineering, Brandon began his professional
career in the Environmental field. First working for the Maryland
Department of the Environment (MDE) as an Air Quality Compliance
Inspector. Brandon then moved into the private sector in the field of
Environmental Consulting working as a Project Manager of CH2MHILL and
Industrial Compliance Practice Leader for KCI Technologies. It was his
last project with KCI managing the former Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point Steel
Mill that that brought him into the Demolition Business. After the mill
had closed, he was approached by the firm tasked with demolishing a former
mill. Brandon became the Environmental Manager of MCM Management
Corporation and rose to be their Executive Vice President. The Sparrows
Point project encompassed environmental remediation, asbestos abatement, full
raze, selective demolition, crushing/screening for beneficial reuse, and
structural backfill. Brandon also oversaw MCM operations in multiple
states.
With over 30 years of experience in Environmental
Compliance and Demolition , Brandon brings a unique skill set to the Berg
portfolio. As COO, Brandon is focused on BERG’s operational cost controls
(hauling/disposal, labor, and equipment) and efficient usage of labor and equipment
for projects. Brandon also manages the short and long-term planning for
Berg projects.
