Christopher Brophy
Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University and a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health. He also holds several Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) designations including a CSP, ASP and CHST. As an OSHA authorized outreach instructor and first aid trainer, Chris is able to facilitate a plethora of in-house safety training for the Berg team.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Chris transitioned into the oil & gas industry as a safety trainer and consultant working with large scale oil and gas operators in the Bakken Shale Formation. Following several years of working in North Dakota, Chris returned to his home state of Maryland and began working with a private equity company that operates 14 subsidiaries in North America across 4 business verticals. Chris was promoted from Environmental Health and Safety Manager to Director of Safety after a few short years and led a team of safety professionals throughout North America in the crane service and heavy equipment distribution sectors. Following his time with the private equity company he joined a Virginia based general contractor and was involved as a senior safety leader primarily responsible for the Microsoft Data Center Construction Team. In his 10+ year career as a safety leader, Chris has focused on areas such as safety program development, EHS system implementation, management of corporate insurance and loss control, training program development, project pre-planning and leading corporate EHS initiatives. His technical knowledge along with his practical approach and ability to effectively communicate has assisted in furthering the Berg culture of safety.
